Thanks to everyone who has picked up a T-shirt or a copy of Yankee Division so far! Sales have been going rather well (who knew people still bought CDs?), and I also wanted to be sure to thank those of you who have written to tell me that you like the music. In other news: this spring has been busy, and I seem to be in danger of reverting to my normal mode of total laxness with respect to the upkeep of this journal. So here are some updates. I recorded a big pile of incidental music for a sketch comedy show that went up at the Loeb Experimental Theater in Cambridge a few weeks ago, and some bits of my music will also be used in a couple upcoming promotional videos for the US Forest Service and a water management agency near Los Angeles. In the meantime, I’ve been working hard over the last month writing new music for the good people at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. I’ve also been getting things together for a new set of seasonally-themed recordings I’m hoping to release this winter. And last week the music blog Resident Media Pundit just published this sweet review of Yankee Division.
Finally, in addition to several solo dates I’ve been playing to promote the new album, I’ll be playing upright bass at a few shows with the excellent, Minneapolis-based folk/bluegrass band Saint Anyway this weekend as they come through Boston once again. If you’re in town, come check it out — details are on the performances page.
